Kathy Frakes, CFP®
My educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The College of William and Mary and the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification from Northwestern University. I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional in June of 2016 after completing the experience requirements. I added the Certified Financial Transitionist designation in 2019 to continue to grow to meet the needs of our clients in significant transition.
My first job after college was as an auditor for Price Waterhouse. During the next 23 years moving around as an Army wife, I had a variety of paid and volunteer jobs—volunteer advisor with the IRS’s Volunteer Income Tax Advisor program; bank teller; Media Aide responsible for a computer lab in the local elementary school; volunteer treasurer for a variety of Cub Scout Packs; and Worship Leader at my church, among others! I’ve chosen a “second career” in financial planning because I believe that it is a culmination of my life’s experiences.
